StudyFlow Privacy Policy

StudyFlow ("the app", "we", "us") helps you plan, focus on, and track your studying. This page explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have — for the Android app available on Google Play.
Data stored only on your device
Your course structure (university, courses, semesters, subjects, topics), study sessions, exams, goals, and reminders are stored locally in the app's own on-device database. If you use the app as a guest (without creating an account), this data never leaves your device.
Data synced to our servers (only if you create an account)
If you create an account or sign in (email/password or Google Sign-In, via Firebase Authentication), the same study data above is also synced to Cloud Firestore so it's available if you sign in on another device. This data is stored under your own account and is never visible to other users.
- Account info: your email address and display name (from Firebase Authentication or your Google account).
- Study data: the same course/session/exam/goal/reminder data described above.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active StudyFlow Premium subscription (verified via Google Play Billing).
Notifications
Reminders and exam alerts you create are scheduled locally on your device using Android's notification system. StudyFlow does not send you push notifications from a server, and never sends a notification you didn't ask for.
Home-screen widgets
Widgets you add to your home screen (Goal, Timer, Exam countdown, etc.) read data already stored locally on your device — no additional data is collected for this feature.
Crash reporting
StudyFlow uses Firebase Crashlytics to help us find and fix bugs. If the app crashes, technical details (device type, OS version, stack trace, and coarse flags like whether you're a guest or Premium user) are sent to Crashlytics. This never includes your study content — no subject names, exam titles, notes, or other content you've entered.
Payments
StudyFlow Premium subscriptions are purchased and managed through Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment card details — that's handled entirely by Google Play.
Advertising
StudyFlow does not show ads and does not use any advertising SDK.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your study content with third parties. The only outside services StudyFlow uses are Google/Firebase (authentication, database, crash reporting) and Google Play Billing (subscriptions), each governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Export your data: from Settings → Data & export, download everything StudyFlow has stored about you as JSON or CSV at any time.
- Delete your data: from Settings → Profile & account, permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app.
- Request deletion without the app: if you no longer have the app installed, use our account deletion request form.
Children's privacy
StudyFlow is intended for students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
